Recombinant herpes simplex virus (HSV) has recently emerged as a promising viral vector in gene therapy and cancer therapy as oncolytic agents. HSV vectors offer several advantages such as natural neurotropism, the ability to persist in a latent, episomal state throughout the lifetime of host cells, and their large cargo carrying capacity for the development of vaccines against cancer. These features make them the ideal virus for a range of in vitro and in vivo gene delivery needs.

Nikebio specializes in the design and construction of HSV vectors that can be used to reconstitute live viruses, including wildtype and attenuated viruses as well as replication-defective amplicons.
