AAV packaging plasmid expressing AAV2 Rep protein and AAV A101 capsid protein
AAV A101 developed by 4D molecular therapeutics is a chimera reconstruction from AAV1, AAV2, AAV4, AAV6 and AAV9. It is designed for delivery via nebulization (or aerosolization) to reach all regions of the airways throughout the lungs and to penetrate the mucus barrier for the transduction of lung airway cells. Compared to traditional adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, the A101 vector is more advantageous for targeting delivery to human airway cells.
